Using eyeshadows as highlighters

So I was gutted when I wasn't able to get my hands on the new highlighters that everyone was going goo goo ga ga over! I remember my IG blowing up with pictures of the new M.A.C. Cosmetics'  'Oh Darling' and 'Whisper of Gilt' brand new limited edition highlighters. Even though I work for M.A.C. I couldn't even grab one!!
But low and behold, theres an alternative and it was right under my nose the whole time that is as equally or even better than these highlighters! I was relieved when the M.A.C. girls let me into a little secret 'Just use this eyeshadow instead, its the closest thing to it'. So I gave it a go.. and to my surprise it just changed my whole highlighter game within seconds!! What a perfect shade, texture and finish! who have thought one of M.A.C's eyeshadows that has been sitting on the shelf for all this time would be my go-to highlighter :D
May I introduce to you M.A.C.'s  Extra Dimension eye shadow in shade 'Sweet Heat'. I absolutely love the texture of this shadow, its smooth silkiness makes it super easy to highlight parts of your face without worrying that it will look chalky or just looking like its just sitting on top of you skin. It has the perfect amount of warmness in the colour to suit pretty much every skin colour. I suppose because its a 'liquid-powder Eye Shadow with prismatic reflections'.. its very different to the rest of the original eyeshadow range.
But most importantly- its a hell of a lot cheaper too! of course its a lot smaller than the actual highlighters, but if this is a product you're only going to use on special occasions, or on a friday night- it should last you long time. For £16 - you can't go wrong! Best way to apply highlighter for me is to use a fan brush so you can can brush it on really lightly and effortlessly on the cheekbone. Add it to your brown bone and inner corner of your eyes for that real healthy glow/radiance!
