How To Create The Perfect Pout

11/8/2015

How many of you take no more than 5 seconds to apply your lipstick?

There has been a HUGE craze for the 'perfect pout' since the whole Kylie Jenner lip-job/no-lip-job rumours, but I have to say it taught me a lot about lips too! I absolutely love experimenting with lip colours these days, creating ombre's, sparkly lips, the perfect nude and much much more
Unfortunately I've not been blessed with lovely full lips therefore I thought using my own lips would be great to demonstrate how easy it is to make them look a little bit juicer!
I wanted to show you first what it looks like with just lipstick on its own:
Picture
-My lips don't really look defined, I have small lips as it is so I don't think a bright colour is doing me any favours
- If I wanted to make my lip colour the main focus of my look, its not really standing out! looks quite messy and smudged around the edges.
- Lips look flat and two dimentional
Here is a step-by-step tutorial of how to create those perfect pouty lips without over-lining them to the point they  start looking reeeeally ridiculous!

Step 1 + 2

Step 1 (see below) - Moisterise your lips. Do your usual base regime i.e. foundation, concealer etc. Don't worry too much about round the lips as you'll be using concealer to cover that area later

Step 2 (see below) - Never line your lips with a blunt/semi-blunt liner, make sure its sharp! start lining your lips, don't be afraid to over-line a little bit on the top and bottom edges, as long as it all blends, everything lines up neatly and you're not trying to alter the shape of your lips too much, they won't look fake. Also, don't worry too much about the liner not staying within the lines or looking smudged - concealer will clean that up later

Step 3 + 4

Step 3 (see below)- Apply your chosen lip colour. I have chosen M.A.C. Cosmetics 'All Fired Up' lipstick (matte) and 'More To Love' lip liner.

Step 4 (see below) - Now for the fun bit! Using a small flat concealer brush and a full coverage concealer, start going around the lips, getting extremely close to the edges of your lips. You will start to see your lip shape looking more defined already

Step 5 + 6

Step 5 (see below) - Blend the concealer into the skin

Step 6 (see below) - Using a lighter shade of your chosen colour (I have used 'angel' by M.A.C) apply that to just the centre of the lips. This will create an illusion to make your lips look 'fuller'. Finally, find either a clear or a light pink gloss and apply it all over lips.

AND HERE IT IS! I've added a little highlighter ('Nylon' eyeshadow M.A.C.) on my cupids bow to make them stand out even more. Can you now see the difference between the first and last image?? lips look defined, fuller and more eye-catching. Super super easy to do, and it doesn't require you buying a lot of new products!

Hope this tutorial was helpful, don't forget to comment below to let me know how your attempt went or if you have any questions you want to ask!
